Linguistics and Applied Language Studies
The Department of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies offers postgraduates in the Linguistics and Applied Language Studies program of Rhodes University a vibrant research community and a supportive environment for study.
Statistics
The aim of the Statistics program of Rhodes University is to help students develop appropriate mathematical tools necessary to represent and interpret information quantitatively. It also aims to develop certain skills and meaningful ways of thinking, reasoning and arguing with quantitative ideas in order to solve problems in any given context.
Accounting
The Accounting program of the Rhodes University acknowledges South Africa’s fractured history and the diversity of its cultures and seeks to educate its students within the framework of a non-racial, non-sexist and socially just environment in line with the principles and values enshrined in the South African Constitution.
Law
The Faculty of Law offers the Law program of Rhodes University by thesis only. Normally, only candidates who have obtained an average of 65% or above in the final year of their LLB study will be admitted to the LLM.

Situated within the attractive garden campus of St Peter’s Chapel at Rhodes University, the Music program of Rhodes University is offered at the Department of Music and Musicology, located in the Beethoven House in Somerset Street, Makhanda (Grahamstown).
Business Administration
The Business Administration of Rhodes University is a course-work degree together with a dissertation of fifteen thousand (15 000) words. The dissertation accounts for 30% of the total credits.
