The Department of European Studies offers a three semester full-time course leading to a Master’s degree in European Studies. The European Studies programme is offered at the University Of Ibadan.

Educational Management
The Department was established in 1976 following a tripartite agreement among the Federal Ministry of Education, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the University of Ibadan, in response to the need for Educational Administrators and Planners in Nigeria. The Honours degree programme in English was introduced in 1952. Ever since its inception, the programme has produced some of the most outstanding men of letters in the country today.
Special Education
Generally speaking, the Faculty of Education came into being in the year 1962 when the Institute of Education (founded in 1957) and the Department of Extra-Mural Studies (founded 1949) were merged and called “Faculty of Education and Extra-Mural Studies”. The Special Education programme is offered at the University Of Ibadan.

Communication and Language Arts
The Department of Communication and Language Arts originally began in 1964/65 as a service centre, a Reading Centre, to impart study skills to new students. It transformed into Department of Language Arts in 1975, and later Department of Communication and Language Arts. The Communication and Language Arts programme is offered at the University Of Ibadan.
Veterinary Anatomy
Established first in 1963 as the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology with financial assistance from the Rockefeller Foundation, the department provides for teaching and research in the fields of gross anatomy, histology and embryology. The Veterinary Anatomy programme is offered at the University Of Ibadan.
Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy, one of the youngest Departments in the Faculty of Arts, was established in the 1974/75 academic session. It began with the late Prof. P.O. Bodunrin (then Dr. P.O. Bodunrin) as the first Head of Department. The Philosophy programme is offered at the University Of Ibadan.
