The Cognitive Science offered by IIT Gandhinagar is an interdisciplinary field with applications in a number of fields like medical neuroscience, neural prosthetics, development of Artificial Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning, Behavioral Economics, and NeuroMarketing.
Electrical Engineering

Computer Science and Engineering
The Computer Science and Engineering program from IIT Gandhinagar is a research intensive unit pursuing excellence in scholarship and teaching. The discipline currently has recognized strengths in algorithms and theoretical computer science, cryptography, computer vision and graphics, data mining, machine learning and computer architecture.

The faculty is presently active in the areas of analysis, differential equations, numerical analysis – particularly as applied to partial differential equations, and optimization theory. The Society and Culture, a unique program at IIT Gandhinagar conceptualized and implemented by the faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (since 2014) has a specific goal of providing to students (from any disciplinary background) breadth and focus in the key disciplines within the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Biological Engineering
The Biological Engineering program at IIT Gandhinagar has been developed keeping in mind the interdisciplinary framework of Biological Engineering, as well as the strengths of the current faculty group.

Chemistry
The Chemistry program at IIT Gandhinagar started in July 2013 with 9 students selected from JAM (Joint Admission Test). The balanced M.Sc. curriculum aims to develop strong foundations in the core areas of chemistry while introducing the students to modern research areas.
Physics
The Physics program at IIT Gandhinagar is rather unique and has several distinguishing features compared to other standard M.Sc programs in the country. The program centers around a modern curriculum which incorporates a significant research component along with developing the foundations of theoretical, computational, and Experimental Physics.
