Overview
The Dental Technology programme at the University of Otago offers a comprehensive education in the technical and scientific aspects of restorative dentistry. Students develop the expertise required to design and manufacture sophisticated dental prosthetics and orthodontic appliances within a modern clinical framework.
This field invites you to explore the intersection of healthcare and engineering. You will learn how to construct artificial teeth and various corrective devices, working with materials such as gold, porcelain, and acrylic. The curriculum focuses on precision and creativity, ensuring you can solve complex problems for individual patient needs.
Modern workflows are a central component of the training. You will engage with computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and 3D printing technologies.
