Overview
The Nursing programme at Montclair State University provides a comprehensive pathway for registered nurses to transition into advanced leadership or educational roles. This Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is delivered through a flexible online format to accommodate the schedules of working healthcare professionals.
Students can choose between two distinct career-focused concentrations: Nursing Administration or Nursing Education. While the coursework is entirely digital, the curriculum includes 150 hours of in-person clinical practicum to ensure graduates possess practical, real-world expertise in their chosen specialisation.
The programme is designed to be completed in two to three years.
Why Nursing at Montclair State University?
This programme is highly regarded for its quality and value, having been ranked as the second-best in New Jersey and 58th nationally by U.S. News & World Report. Such recognition ensures that graduates hold a credential that is respected by employers across the healthcare sector.
The university maintains strong partnerships with major healthcare providers, including Atlantic Health System and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. These connections facilitate clinical placements and provide a robust professional network for students as they progress through their studies.
The Nursing Administration track offers a unique interdisciplinary approach by incorporating credits from the Feliciano School of Business. This allows students to study alongside MBA candidates, gaining essential skills in project management, finance, and strategic leadership within a healthcare context.
