Overview
Career Coaching (Part-time) at Birkbeck, University of London aims to equip coaches, consultants and HR professionals with the skills and knowledge to work with groups and individuals in organisations and in private practice in the role of career coach or consultant.
This is one of the few programmes in the UK to focus on adult career management and coaching. It attracts individuals working in a wide range of settings and organisational contexts, and provides excellent opportunities for peer learning and networking. It also offers a progression route onto our MSc Career Coaching.
Careers
Career coaching is an expanding profession, given the changing world of work. The certificate offers the core skills to work in career management, career services and outplacement agencies. For experienced career practitioners the programme provides a strong academic base to complement practical experience in organisations as career and talent managers and in private practice.
Alumni use the skills and knowledge gained on the course to progress in their current management roles and to transition into the field: possible professions include human resources and career support services.
